CILO
Cilo was born and raised on the same lands as his ancestors, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Belonging to a tribe (Muwekma Ohlone) with only 5 remaining family lineages, the Indigenous artist's music represents a legacy of resilience and survival. As a producer-rapper, his ability to blend Bay Area bounce with lyrics that speak to the collective conscious leave him in an unparalleled space. He views his music as both fine art, and a documentation of the Indigenous perspective in modern times. Every song adds to the legacy of his position as an artist.
Most notably known for his breakout single, Gotdamn, Cilo created waves across the internet in 2023 with his project, LOS. In only 6 months, the rapper had amassed over 3M streams, toured as an opener with the legendary Curren$y. His reputation continued to grow as he built visual worlds through his music videos. In 2024, he followed up with what he called a "half-step," THE WAIT. The EP was made in the midst of working on a larger project, but had its own impact. He was featured on Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Hip-Hop Best of 2024 list. He received a co-sign from Timbaland and was posted by Snoop Dogg. He quickly showed his ability to grow behind some of his influences, from Kanye West to Kendrick Lamar, Outkast , and Steve Lacy.
