Deb Fan is a Taiwanese artist born and raised in Hong Kong, now based in Los Angeles. Trained in piano, opera, and trumpet from the age of four, and later studying music production, sound design, and engineering in college, Deb’s background combines classical performance with contemporary production. Songwriting came later in her life and has since become the central part of her artistic identity. Deb crafts a sound that draws from her music taste including soul, ’70s psychedelic rock, and alternative R&B, creating a genre-blurring tapestry that mirrors her personal journey. Her sound offers an intimate perspective into the experience in America alone as a progressive woman, while honoring the weight of her traditional upbringing.
